This week we’ll take a look at The Cartel.
In the beginning, when the Daobi mines were first established but authority was not, there was a mix of policies. Chancellor @sidcode chose comical numbers, Chancellor @puyuan opted for random numbers, Chancellor @wdiamond had mass-minting, Chancellor @XianyangCB wanted scarcity, Chancellor @昭烈帝 chose experimentation. Then, Chancellor @rulesofchinese won for the first time, and chose even-distribution, where the total minted would always be divisible by the residents in the city. This policy was maintained for successive elections, until the arrival of @СЛОВѢНИНЪ . He rode in on a policy of expansionism, and incited much excitement in the city. The next election resulted in a tie. There was no interregnum however, as @СЛОВѢНИНЪ and @rulesofchinese agreed to be co-Chancellors.
In this co-Chancellorship, the future Grand Commandant @СЛОВѢНИНЪ proposed that money distributed would be devalued, and that Daobi should be restricted. @rulesofchinese was adamant that there be a monopoly within the city by a class of Elders holding the greater majority of Daobi, united in dominance over new merchants. A list was proposed over whom should join the monopoly.
