In the month before the arrival of the New Year, @rulesofchinese was persistently elected Chancellor of the Daobi server. He wrote short spiels almost daily, detailing the earliest days of Daobi before its move into the mainnet.
12th Moon, 25th Day - New attendees at court, bathing in the afterglow of receiving Daobi, petitioned for the lead Master Craftsman to take the Chancellorship. I am fascinated to see what the Master Craftsman's adherents believe will happen. Do they expect multitudes of rewards? Do they believe that the Daobi minting is -in any way, shape or form- assisted by the Master Craftsman being given more tasks at court?
The old disease is beginning to creep into court. As stability takes form, the newest arrivals are eager to sneer at its age. They imagine that any other Chancellor would be different. They disregard the difficulty of achieving stability, and how antithetical their mercurial voting habits are to that end.
The passage of time reveals the importance of the familiar; of valuing sustained relationships and shared experiences. The passage of time also makes us impatient.
